Longmont in the Stadum Story
Longmont is a midsize city in Boulder County at the foot of the Rocky Mountains. For the Stadum family it marks a Colorado chapter shared by at least two family members in the mid-to-late 1990s.
Kristin Stadum lived in Longmont beginning around 1997 after graduating from Bowling Green State University. The city sits northeast of Boulder, roughly forty miles from Denver, and was growing rapidly during this period. Kristin's time in Colorado is part of the arc that eventually brought her to Washington, D.C., where her public-service and advocacy work took shape.
Kathy Bode, Kristin's mother, also spent several years in Longmont from approximately 1996 to 1999 before relocating to Faribault, Minnesota. The overlap makes Longmont a rare shared chapter between mother and daughter in the record.
The place has not yet been explored with photographs, letters, or additional family memory. It is recorded here because it appears consistently in family-supplied place sequences and should eventually connect to a fuller story of this Colorado period.
