Gina Otilda Brorby (often spelled Brorby in early township records) represents the maternal roots of the first American-born generation of the Stadum line in North Dakota.

Gina was born in 1881. She married Johannes (John) Pedersen Stadum, and they established their family farm in Broe Township, Benson County, North Dakota. The area, populated by Norwegian immigrants, was centered around local community and agricultural development.

Gina and Johannes raised four children: Palmer Alvin (1909–1999), Ida Alice (1911–2003), Arthur John (1915–1990), and Julian Gilmore (1918–1985).

She passed away in 1964 at the age of 83, shortly before her husband. Her legacy is carried on by her numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who continue to explore the family history.
