Overview
Washington, D.C. was the hub of Scott's transparency and open-government career across two distinct chapters.
Scott first arrived in Washington in 2005 after completing Peace Corps service in Guyana. His first D.C. chapter (2005–2008) involved digital marketing, tools training, and nonprofit technology work. After a posting to Tbilisi, Georgia with Transparency International (2008–2009) and time in Buenos Aires (2008–2010), he returned to D.C. for a second chapter (2010–2013).
The second chapter was the most public: Scott wrote open-government advocacy guides and tools documentation at the Sunlight Foundation, then moved to digital strategy and communications at National Public Radio.
